Hello I am Elaine Baker - I am a climate activist, I am involved with several policy advocacy groups related to energy, and I also work in electricity flexibility as my paid job. Some voluntary roles I have which are relevant to this: I am chair of the Community Energy Federation of Ireland and I am chair of the Policy Council and Convenor of the Energy Policy Group in the Green Party of Ireland. As we can see on the pictures PV panels can be installed at every surface.It can be the wall,the roof(even North facing!),the yard.Where ever natural light reaches a surface we can harvest free energy.

The latest development are solar fences around gardens,homes,agricultural areas for example to provide wind shelter.

PV panels are cheaper par m2 than timber boards or any other permanent fencing/facade material.They come with a manufacturer's warranty of 20+ years.No fence supplier will give this ...

Hello Juri and Andred (and Mona if you're here?)

I am thinking we could have some way of discussing / chatting about the way forward for plug in solar in Ireland. Wondering what the best way of communicating is. Some options:

- a whatsapp group

- a signal group

- an email list (I could set one up on framagroupes)

- a slack channel for Ireland in the wider slack workspace set up by Craig ( https://join.slack.com/t/masplug/shared_invite/zt-3qa2xjop0-Lyz~Jnm24lNEQLtVewuvtw )

- continuing to use this forum Craig set up (but then we would have remind ourselves to log in here sometimes)

Some updates are that Barry Heneghan TD has an interest in this and raised a PQ about it here

Hi my name is Daz. I studied Elec. Eng. in UCC many years ago. I spent many years backpacking. My career has been a Web entrepreneur and programmer. I'm familar with online tech, business and marketing.
