If you click here https://pluginsolar.info/community/, you'll see the country action groups below "getting started". Make sure you briefly post who you are within your country thread, a bit like this (I'll do it here because my country is Germany and thus not listed):

Hey everyone, I am Craig Morris, the executive director of the German Association of Plug-in Solar (BVSS). I am not an electrician or physicist (my degrees are in English and German from Tulane University and UT Austin), but I have worked in renewables since 1 Jan 2001, when I joined the International Solar Energy Society as an Information Officer. I have focused on distributed renewables in particular since then.

To-do: outside Australia and North America, please confirm your participation on 3 Feb 2026 at 6pm Berlin time. Australians (and possibly North Americans), please confirm 4 Feb 2026 at 11 pm Berlin time (morning of 5 Feb in Australia). To confirm or comment, just reply here.

With the country questionnaires due at the end of January, we could have our first meeting on Tuesday, 3 Feb 2026 for Europe/South Africa. The BVSS uses OpenTalk, an EU-based video-conferencing platform you can use from your browser. Here is the link:

https://meet.opentalk.eu/room/ab4a7dbb-dacd-4d1a-8830-9e64e61115ed?invite=6b94bb36-f9f2-4c84-bd28-1566e770519b

I propose 6 pm (18h) Berlin time. I realize this is after work for Europeans and South Africans. We could move the Europe/SA call into working hours. Please advise.

For Australia and North America, I propose 11 pm Berlin time on Wednesday, 4 Feb, which is the beginning of the workday on Thursday (5 Feb) in most of Australia (9 am in Sydney). It is also the end of the workday or mid-afternoon in North America (5 pm east coast, 2 pm west coast) on Wednesday, 4 Feb.

The topic will be the results of the questionnaire and a presentation about how the BVSS understands what need to be done based on our experience in Germany, which is probably the leading plug-in solar market at present. The results should be next steps for the group.

Welcome to the MASplug project! We would like to create country groups that, ideally, continue working together even after the project ends in order to facilitate the spread of plug-in solar. Part of that process involves understanding national obstacles and what needs to be said to whom, and part of it just means country action groups getting to know each other. Collaboration on this questionnaire launches all of that.

All of the one-page country questionnaires are available here:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Wqm-YqDmLPw88AkQPc5KP2Twgj96aIVa?usp=drive_link.

The first person is each country should feel free to start. To discuss the first answers, maybe use comments and the suggesting mode. Feel free to read any and all of them (and even comment), but I would ask that everyone write unmarked text only in their own country’s questionnaire.

Not everyone will know all of the answers necessarily. That's fine: part of the process is understanding what needs to be known. If the country group does not know some answers at the outset, finding the answers becomes part of the project.

Likewise, the questions posed reflect what we at the BVSS -- a German organization -- found useful in Germany. We might not be asking all of the necessary questions in your country, however. So feel free to add your own.

In addition, there are threads under each action groups when you visit https://pluginsolar.info/community/. Use that section to communicate with each other. And as always, contact me whenever you have any questions, including about using this website forum.

Finally, let’s have fun with this — I look forward to working with all of you!

Craig
